System Error 2 displays when installing the Dameware MRC agent

Overview

When you install the Dameware Mini Remote Control (MRC) agent, the following error displays:

Unable to start Service
System Error: 2
System Message:
The system cannot find the file specified

This error usually occurs when you install the agent using Dameware MRC on-demand.

Cause

User account privilege issue when installing the agent. Either the remote user has no admin rights or is not a member of any administrator group.
Missing or corrupted files of Dameware application on the host machine

Resolution

Make sure you are a member of the Administrator group.
Install manually or using the MSI installer package, check this article.
Reinstall Dameware application on the host machine
