Support for Microsoft Graph in SolarWinds WHD

Exchange Web Services (EWS) is scheduled for retirement in October 2026. Microsoft Graph is the replacement technology.

Overview

If your current configuration for your WHD mailboxes is set to use EWS, plan to update the configurations to use Microsoft Graph, as it replaces EWS.

Resolution

Confirm which mailbox flow(s) you are using with Web Help Desk (WHD) — incoming email for ticket creation, outgoing email notifications, or both, and if it is EWS, plan to update the configuration to Microsoft Graph.

WHD now supports Microsoft Graph API for Microsoft 365 email configuration:

Incoming Mail: Microsoft Graph API has been supported since WHD 12.7.13. See Configure an incoming email account for Microsoft 365
Outgoing Mail: Microsoft Graph API has been supported since WHD 12.8.3. See Configure an outgoing email account
