Overview

Some autogenerated links are not displayed in Subview for node details after an update to 2025.2. In 'Console' tab, running Developer Tools shows the following:

ERROR TypeError: he.type.split is not a function

However, in the editor/viewer, all connections on this map are rendered correctly, and clicking on the (_CoreA… and _CoreB…) connection expands the multilink.

The article covers the reason and possible workaround for viewing maps if necessary, and how this affects the daily monitoring of such entities.

Cause

In some cases, the child link type is stored as a number instead of a string.
For example, the value may appear as 4 instead of the expected LinkType.bidirectional, which prevents certain links from rendering in subviews.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in SolarWinds Platform 2025.4. Consider upgrading your environment. If you can't upgrade, use the workaround below.

  1. In the subview of the affected Intelligent Map, click Open map in editor (top-right corner).

  2. In the Map Editor, click Save without making any changes.

  3. Close the editor.

  4. View the map in the Map Viewer or add it to an Intelligent Map widget on any dashboard.

After completing these steps, the previously missing links should appear as expected.
