Subscription Usage Notification for Heroku Add-on SolarWinds Observability SaaS

This article explains the changes on who should receive the subscription usage email notifications for Papertrail as an add-on in Heroku migrated to the new SolarWinds Observability SaaS UI.

Overview

In the classic Papertrail add-on UI in Heroku, log usage notifications are set to <team>@herokumanager.com email address by default, which Heroku expands to every collaborator/member on the app/team.

Previously, the email address recipient could be modified in the classic Papertrail add-on UI by going to Settings >> Usage Notifications. When these accounts are migrated to the new SolarWinds Observability SaaS UI, these steps are no longer valid.

As the Papertrail add-on on Heroku has been migrated from the classic Papertrail UI to the new SolarWinds Observability SaaS UI, subscription usage email notifications are now automatically sent to anyone who has recently interacted with the Papertrail add-on UI. Administrators of the add-on will also receive usage email notifications. This prevents having a manually configured list of email address/es as recipients.
