Submit a feature request for SolarWinds Products

Overview

This article describes how to submit a feature request to SolarWinds. Feature requests and votes by you and other SolarWinds users help SolarWinds plan updates and additions to services and modules. All feature requests can be entered through THWACK. Our Product Managers monitor THWACK forums. This will allow other customers to voice their opinions as to whether they would find the feature useful.

To request a feature for a specific product:

  1. Navigate to Thwack.
  2. From the banner at the top, select Products > the product to submit a feature request for. For example > Products SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted.
  3. On the main page for the product, select Feature Requests > New Idea and fill out the Create Post form to submit your feature request.

You may post your request to the THWACK forum for the SolarWinds product you wish to see improved.  

  1. Visit a specific product forum here on the THWACK forums:
  2. Click on Suggest an Idea - Name of the Feature Request” and detail your request, including the case number.

In these forums, you can voice your opinions on whether you find certain features useful or not. These forums are monitored by our product managers. You may also call support to request a ticket for your feature request or access the Customer Portal to create your ticket. Make sure to indicate Feature Request in the title.

Please be aware that:

  • Developers will decide on whether or not to go ahead with the implementation of the feature.
  • Developers will decide on the timeline of the release (if they decided to implement the feature)

Support does not update you on whether the feature has been implemented. To see what features are being added to a product, check product blogs on THWACK, Product Release Notes, and feature overviews per release. Release notes are found here:
