Resolution

  1. Open a cmd prompt. 
  2. Enter services.msc. 
  3. In the Services list. locate and select SolarWinds Security Event Manager Agent. (Depending on your version, it may say Log and Event Manager)
  4. Locate the Start the Service/Stop the Service links, and then click the link that applies. 

    You will need to stop or start SEM agent services on several occasions. For example, when you try to reconnect to the SEM Manager.

Note: If the SEM agent service is ended from Task Manager, it is set to restart automatically as per the below recovery settings.
