SolarWinds Platform installer fails to start due to insufficient PowerShell Permissions

The SolarWinds Installer may close automatically because the required PowerShell commands cannot run due to permission issues. PowerShell itself is not accessible under the user account. After logging in with another account that had proper permissions, PowerShell opens successfully and the SolarWinds Installer completes without any issues.

Overview

The SolarWinds Platform Installer may fail to launch properly and close immediately during startup. The issue is related to PowerShell not running under the current user account. After switching to an account with proper permissions, the installer works as expected.

Cause

PowerShell is unable to run required commands during the installation.
The user account does not have proper permissions to open or execute PowerShell.
The logs show a CommandNotFoundException for the PowerShell cmdlet Out-String, confirming that PowerShell is not functioning correctly.

Resolution

Resolution:
Use a local admin account without any restrictions and ensure it has full PowerShell access. Log in with this account and run the SolarWinds Installer again. Once PowerShell is accessible, the installer completes successfully.
