SolarWinds Platform Maps not working correctly on SolarWinds Platform 2026.1

This article describes an SolarWinds Platform Maps issue on SolarWinds Platform 2026.1 where parts of the map editor do not respond correctly during manual topology creation and when using Expand Connections and Topology options.

Overview

This issue has two observed behaviors in SolarWinds Platform Maps on SolarWinds Platform 2026.1.

First, when creating a manual topology, the workflow can break because a gray layer appears over the user interface. A temporary workaround is to press the Esc key on the keyboard.


Second, the check boxes under Expand Connections and Topology do not work correctly. When selected, they remain checked and do not toggle on or off as expected.

Cause

The root cause is a defect in how SolarWinds Platform Maps processes certain account names that contain double spaces. When an affected account name is present, SolarWinds Platform Maps can encounter a JavaScript error and the editor UI may not behave correctly, including the gray overlay and non-functional check boxes.

Resolution

This resolution removes the double space from the affected SolarWinds Platform account name so the SolarWinds Platform Maps page can load and function correctly.

  • Go to the Manage Accounts page: /Orion/Admin/Accounts/Accounts.aspx

  • Find the account that has a double space in the name

  • Edit the account name and remove the double space

  • Save the changes
