Skip Not Monitored Devices using Orion Syslog

This article describes how to stop receiving syslog messages from nodes that are not monitored by Orion NPM.

Cause

The Orion server is receiving Syslog Messages from unmonitored nodes.

Resolution

  1. Login to the Orion Web Console.
  2. Navigate to this URL: http://OrionServerIP_Hostname/Orion/...on/Global.aspx.
  3. Under SyslogService.SyslogSettings:
    1. Locate SkipNotMonitoredDevices - Checkbox (default is unchecked).
    2. Select to Skip (Enable).
  4. Save and Restart Orion Services to take effect.
