Setting the the upload or download speed in Serv-U

This article shows how to set the upload or download speed on all levels and the upload size limit.

Overview

The upload and the download speed limit in Serv-U can be configured in the Global, Domain, Group, or User levels. Serv-U can also control the upload and download speed per Domain, Session, or User Account, including the upload size restriction.

Resolution

Setting the limit at the Global or Domain Level

1. Launch the Serv-U Management Console.
2. Go to either Global or Domain level > Limits & Settings > Limits tab > Change the Limit Type drop-down option to Data Transfer.
3. Edit the desired 'Limit Type' and click YES to create a new limit, then save.


Setting the limit at the Group level

1. Go to the Domain level > Groups > Edit the desired group > Limits & Settings tab > Limits tab > Change the Limit Type drop-down option to Data Transfer.
2. Edit the desired 'Limit Type' and click YES to create a new limit, then save.


Setting the limit on the User Level

1. Go to Domain > Users > Edit the user account > Limits & Settings tab > Limits tab > change the Limit Type drop-down option to Data Transfer.
2. Edit the desired 'Limit Type' and click YES to create a new limit, then save.
