Set up an SSH tunnel for database instance monitoring

While Standard TCP/IP over SSH functionality isn't built directly into DPA, you can set up an SSH tunnel with 3rd party software to connect a database server that's unreachable directly from your DPA server.

Overview

You can set up an SSH tunnel to connect to a database server that's unreachable directly from your DPA server. This requires an SSH connection to either the database server or a server from which the database is directly accessible.

Once the SSH connection is in place, the database's port can be forwarded over the SSH tunnel to a free port on your DPA server. You can then register the database instance for monitoring in DPA as if the database is running directly on the DPA server.
