ServiceNow Connection integration is unable to fetch CI information from SolarWinds

ServiceNow is not accepting the SolarWinds-Orion certificate during the Connector Integration.

Overview

During the ServiceNow Connector CMDB Integration with SolarWinds, the test gets cancelled state, showing the certificate is untrusted.

Cause

The certificate is a self-signed Orion certificate (SolarWinds-Orion), and the untrusted result is expected.

Resolution

There are two options:

1. Configure Service now to accept the certificate. Consult with your ServiceNow team if this is achievable

2. Use a trusted certificate for the SolarWinds SWIS Endpoint. Please follow the steps in the below article to configure this. Ensure the certificate you use is trusted by ServiceNow as well.
Enable/disable the SWIS endpoint port

After this configuration, the SWIS port will be 17774, and the SWIS REST endpoint on 17778 will be disabled.
