Server Error when trying to login to Kiwi Web Access 9.8.x
This article will describe how to fix the server error in the URL when the user is trying to log in to Kiwi Web Access. The URL displays this error https://kiwiwebaccessurl:8443/Gateway.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fServerError.aspx

Resolution
For Kiwi Syslog installed as a Service:
- Stop the Kiwi Syslog Server service (see Start/Stop Kiwi Syslog Server).
- Stop the Kiwi Web Access Service (via Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager).
- Rename your App_Data folder to App_Data_OLD
- Create a new App_Data folder
- Open the following directory:
\Program Files (X86)\SolarWinds\ Kiwi Syslog Web Access\html\App_Data_OLD\
- Copy the Event-blank.sdf file and System.sdf file from the App_Data_OLD folder
- Paste both files to the new App_Data folder.
- Create a copy of the Event-blank.sdf file and rename the copy to Event.sdf.
- Note: Do not rename the original Event-blank.sdf file, but leave this file in the same folder.
- Start the Kiwi Syslog Server service.
- Start the Kiwi Web Access Website from the IIS Manager
- Login to Kiwi Web Access with the same credentials
*NOTE:
- Please make sure to close and reopen the browser or clear the cache.
- For the latest version 9.8.2 and above, the file extension is now *.sqlite
For Kiwi Syslog installed as an Application:
- Exit Kiwi Syslog Server application via File > Exit
- Stop the Kiwi Web Access site from IIS manager.
- Move all the *.sdf files that are saved with
Event#.sdfnaming convention (Event1.sdf, Event2.sdf,.) to an alternate location except for "Event-blank.sdf" and "System.sdf" files. - Copy & paste the Event-blank.sdf file in the same folder and rename the copy to the Event.sdf.
- Note: Do not rename the original Event-blank.sdf file, but leave this file in the same folder.
- Start the Kiwi Syslog Application.
- Start the Kiwi Web Access Website from IIS Manager
- Login to Kiwi Web Access with the same credentials
- Database Maintenance Not required as Maximum Database Size > Set to 4GB
Resolution-2:
1. Stop the following services in Windows > services.msc:
- Kiwi Syslog Server
- UltiDev Web Server pro
- UWS HiPriv Services
- UWS LoPriv Services
Set the following services Startup Type to: "Disabled"
- UltiDev Web Server pro
- UWS HiPriv Services
- UWS LoPriv Services
2. Stop Kiwi Web Access 9.8.0 service in Windows > Administrative Tools > IIS.
3. Move out all *.sdf files in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Kiwi Syslog Web Access\html\App_Data to other location.
4. Uninstall Kiwi Web Access 9.8.0 in Windows > Control Panel > Programs & Features
5. Reinstall Kiwi Web Access 9.8.0 using the installer in C:\Program Files (x86)\Syslogd\Setup.
6. Start the Kiwi Syslog Server service in Windows > services.msc.
7. Start the Kiwi Web Access 9.8.0 service in Windows > Administrative Tools > IIS.
8. Try to access the Kiwi Web Access 9.8.0 Web Console again.
Note: Verify on Kiwi Syslog Console > File > Setup - make sure there are no duplicate rule " Log to Syslog Web Access" and with action "Reset Flags/Counters". If you find these duplicate rules, please delete them.
