Overview

After upgrading Serv-U to the latest version (15.2.4), this issue surfaced, where Serv-U stops or crashes after a few days of upgrading. The problem is repetitive and occurs every few days. To alleviate the issue, they need to restart the Serv-U service.

The reported symptoms are:
1. 
Domain suddenly stopped, causing the Management Console to be unresponsive and interrupting jobs/sessions that are currently running.


From the Serv-U logs:

Cause

This is a known issue in 15.2.4 reported in SRV-1271.
 

Resolution

Resolution-1:
For Windows Systems, upgrade to the latest version 15.3.0 or higher.

Resolution-2:
For Linux Systems, revert back to Serv-U 15.2.3 with Hotfix1 and Hotfix2 or install the latest version available after 15.2.4.

  2. Install Serv-U 15.2.3 Hotfix1
  3. Install Serv-U 15.2.3 Hotfix2
