Send SNMP trap alert action fails on environments with non-default installation paths

When you install Orion Platform directly on a disc drive (such as D:\SolarWinds) and use the send SNMP traps alert action, the alert action might fail with timeouts. To resolve the issue, make sure the installation path has at least one subfolder, such as D:\SolarWinds\Orion.

Cause

When trap templates are loading, the parent folder in the installation path is being scanned. For example, if you install the Orion Platform on D:/, the entire D disc is being scanned and that might cause the action to fail.

Resolution

To resolve the issue, use re-install the Orion Platform into a subfolder, such as D:\SolarWinds\Orion. This way, only the SolarWinds folder will be scanned, thus preventing timeouts in case of the entire D drive being scanned.
