Screen resolution problem on 4K monitor during Dameware remote connection

As there is currently no permanent fix to the issue where the remote screen displayed on a 4k monitor is very small when connected remotely to a PC, the content of this article helps as a workaround. Results may vary in different environments.

Cause

This is a known issue with 4K monitors and affects all programs running on 4K monitors.
 

Resolution

Resolution 1:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization.
  2. Under Display, click Make Text and Other Items Larger Or Smaller.
  3. Choose a custom setting between 100 and 500 percent.
  4. Set Screen Resolution to the maximum value.
  5. When you connect with Dameware, right-click on top of the window and select maximize.
  6. Adjust the toggle button to maximize.

Resolution 2:

1. Right-click on the Dameware Mini Remote Control icon on the Desktop> Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab> Change high DPI settings.
3. Check the box, then select "System (Enhanced)"

4. Click OK> OK.

Resolution 3:

Uncheck the "Use the MRC's Mirror Driver if available"

Resolution 4:

Select "Use the Remote Desktop (RDP)" for the machines having this issue.
