Overview
When you are adding a node, an error is displayed about being unable to connect to SWIS. In the logs, you will find a error like the following:
2018-04-23 16: 27: 49,555 [109] (126) ERROR Orion_Nodes_Add_Properties - (null) System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1 [SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.CoreFaultContract]: ProvideFault failed, check fault information. (Error detail is equal to SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Common.CoreFaultContract (Unknown): System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening on net.tcp: // localhost: 17777 / SolarWinds / InformationService / v3 / Orion / certificate This message is often caused by a bad address or SOAP action, see "InnerException," if any.
When checking RabbitMQ at the same time we see the error:
=ERROR REPORT==== 23-Apr-2018::16:27:39 ===
closing AMQP connection <0.10121.71> ([FE80::A9C6:3414:CDCE:C849]:50175 -> [FE80::A9C6:3414:CDCE:C849]:5671):
missed heartbeats from client, timeout: 10s
This occurs because RabbitMQ is using IPv6 instead of IPv4.

Resolution
- Stop all Orion Services using Orion Service Manager.
- Disable IPv6 on the server.
- Start all Orion Services again and test.
To disable the IPv6 on Windows Server 2012 R2, use the tool from Microsoft that you can find on the link below:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...nts-in-windows (© 2018 Microsoft, Inc., available at www.microsoft.com, obtained on November 7, 2018.)
On this page, the tool is the first on the left where it says "Prefer IPv4 over IPv6 in prefix policies".
