Overview

While adding the NTA widget (i.e. Top XX Applications) using an account with very complex limitations, the website throws an exception.

In SWIS log:

ERROR SolarWinds.InformationService.DataProviders.SqlQueryRelation - w3wp| /LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT-1-133488307634563482| SolarWinds.Netflow.Common.SwisConnectionProxyWeb.Query()| /Orion/TrafficAnalysis/SummaryView.aspx (null) An SqlException occurred.
Message: Internal error: An expression services limit has been reached. Please look for potentially complex expressions in your query, and try to simplify them.

Netflow Traffic Analyzer

Cause

This issue occurs due to the SQL query exceeds the limit of the number of identifiers and constants (65535) that can be contained in a single expression of a query.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in NTA 2025.4. Consider upgrading your environment.
