Overview

After adding EMC arrays successfully using SMI-s provider, high latency is shown for all LUNS.

After checking this latency with the storage team, no latency was found on the EMC arrays.

However, SRM continued to show very high latency for LUNs.

Storage Resource Monitor

Cause

This is an EMC issue and affects only LUNs with very low IOPS.
See  EMC KB: https://support.emc.com/kb/453230 (log in required).

The issue is the same and well known for EMC VNX and EMC UNITY arrays as well .

Response times are calculated using the I/O queue length divided by the throughput. Therefore, when the throughput is low/minimal (typically under 100 IOPS), some surprisingly high response time values can be recorded. These can normally be ignored.

Resolution

You can always change thresholds for those LUNs that are not been used much or have very low IOPS for such changes.

This has to be corrected on the vendor side.  for any further information please contact vendor

Solarwinds alternative Solution:
You can unmanage the whole array; however, there is no way to unmanage on LUN level at this time.
See Unmanage and remanage arrays .
