SRM: Enable an IBM FlashSystem A9000 / A9000R array

This article provides information for adding your IBM FlashSystem A9000 / A9000R series array to SRM.

Overview

This is in conjunction with the Add your storage array for monitoring with SRM topic in the Success Center documentation  or online help.

The SMI-S provider (referred to as the CIM agent) is embedded in the array.

Credentials required to add array

Ensure you have the following information:

  • IP address or hostname for the array.
  • Provider username
  • Provider password
  • Protocol. The default is HTTPS
  • HTTP port. The default is 5988
  • HTTPS port. The default is 5989
  • Interop namespace.  The default is /interop
  • Array namespace.  The default is /root/ibm

Enable the array/provider

The Common Information Model (CIM) agent is preinstalled and embedded on the administrative module, and it is enabled by default and preconfigured.

*You can use the cim_enable and cim_disable commands through the command-line interface (CLI) to enable or disable the CIM agent. While the CIM agent is enabled, a watchdog process monitors it to ensure it is always running.
