SRM: Enable an HPE GreenLake for Block (HPE Alletra Storage MP) array

This article provides information on enabling your HPE GreenLake for Block (HPE Alletra Storage MP) storage arrays so they can be monitored with SolarWinds Storage Resources Monitor (SRM). Monitoring is performed through SMI-S and REST APIs on the array.

HPE GreenLake for Block arrays are monitored directly through onboard REST and SMI-S APIs on the array.

Login credentials for SRM monitoring require browse permissions. To create a user with browse permissions:

1.  Log in to the HPE Web Console.
2. Go to Settings > Users.
3. Click the plus sign (+).
4. Enter user name and password.
5. Select browse role, and click Create.

To enable the SMI-S CIM server:

1. Log in to the HPE Web Console.
2. Go to Settings > Network Services > SMI-S CIM server > Configure CIM server.
3. Enable Service and click Save.

Credentials required to add the array

Ensure you have the following information available:

• IP address or hostname for the array
• Array username
• Array password
• Protocol
  Default: HTTPS
