SRM: Enable a NetApp OnCommand for 7-mode or Clustered Data ONTAP (including the NetApp AFF series) array

Overview

NetApp 7-Mode and Clustered Data ONTAP arrays (including the NetApp AFF series) are monitored via an external NetApp server. It should be used in conjunction with the Add your storage array for monitoring with SRM topic in the Success Center documentation, visit NetApp Support (© 2019 NetApp, available at https://mysupport.netapp.com/, obtained on June 19, 2019), or online help.

NetApp 7-Mode: If you have many NetApp 7 Mode filers in your environment, using NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager Core can be a convenient way to add them to SRM. NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager Core can discover NetApp 7 mode filers and collect data on the filers it manages. After the NetApp 7 Mode filers are added, you can easily configure SRM to query them directly.

NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP Mode: If you have many NetApp Cluster Mode filers (including the NetApp AFF series) in your environment, using NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager for Clustered Data ONTAP can be a convenient way to add them to SRM. NetApp OnCommand Unified Manager for Clustered Data ONTAP can discover NetApp Cluster Mode filers and collect data on the filers it manages. After the NetApp Cluster Mode filers are added, you can easily configure SRM to query them directly.

Credentials required to add the array

Ensure you have the following information:

IP address or hostname for the provider.
Provider username.
Provider password.
Protocol. The default is HTTPS.
HTTP port. The default is 8088 for 7-mode, 80 for Clustered Data ONTAP.
HTTPS port. The default is 8488 for 7-mode, 443 for Clustered Data ONTAP.
