SQL Sentry: Relocate Log File

This article summarizes how to move the log file when it cannot be found in the default location.

Overview

Depending on the file drive used, the rolling and console logs may be missing in the default location.

Cause

Different drive than the default drive being used for file storage.

Resolution

On the SQL Sentry Monitoring Host, please go to the SentryOne/SolarWinds folder and open up the file, SentryOne.App.MonitoringService.exe.log4net. Please note that you may have to open a notepad as an admin first.
Please change the file path to a location outside of the SentryOne folder on the same line in the image below. After saving the change, please restart the SentryOne Monitoring Service.
