SQL Sentry Portal configurations correct, but still not functioning when loading in browser after upgrade.

The purpose of this troubleshooting article is to provide a workaround for a corrupted connection string for the Portal. This can occur directly after an upgrade, and the connection string needs to be rebuilt.

Overview

Steps to rebuilding Configuration File:

Locate Portal Configuration File at file path: C:\ProgramData\SentryOne\monitorportalconfig
Delete the SQL Sentry Portal Config File.
Run the SQL Sentry Portal Configuration Utility again and it will regenerate the Config File in that location.

Cause

This can occur when a connection string is corrupted following an upgrade of SQL Sentry.

Resolution

Once the configuration file has been rebuilt, run the config utility, then relaunch the Portal in the Web Browser (Chrome, IE).
