Overview

If you cannot see traps for SNMPv3 nodes in the Orion Web Console and/or in the Trap Viewer, review the SNMP trap settings.

Resolution

To ensure that SNMPv3 traps are displayed in the Orion Web Console, review the following settings:

  • Ensure that the node is monitored by your Orion Platform product via SNMPv3.

SNMPv1 and SNMPv2 work without the node being added to the SolarWinds product.

  • Ensure that the polling IP address, the IP address sending the traps, and the credentials are identical. This is required for SNMPv3 traps.
  • Ensure that SNMP traps are configured correctly, UDP port 162 is open, and that the same authentication type is configured for both SNMPv3 polling and traps. See Before you begin in the topic Monitor SNMP traps .
