SNMPv2-MIB:authenticationFailure Trap for VLAN/Topology polling. Solarwinds normal Topology polling will poll all Layer 2 vlan information regardless if it is shutdown.

This article explains the possibility to view Traps for VLAN or topology polling.

Resolution
The following trap proceeds if you have VLANs shutdown but still show up in the vmmembership table. For example,
SolarWinds normal Topology polling polls all Layer 2 VLAN information regardless if it is shutdown. Refer to What object IDs (OIDs) does the Orion Platform poll for network topology information.

The only current known workaround is to filter Traps or shut off these failure Traps from being sent from the device.
