Network Management
SNMP or API-based monitoring for Meraki devices
For Meraki devices, you can poll device nodes as SNMP nodes (with basic information polled by SNMP, and SD-WAN details polled via API), or as API-only nodes (with all details polled via API). API-only polling is supported for the following device type categories: appliance, switch, and wireless. SolarWinds recommends API-only polling when users cannot or do not want to poll device nodes via SNMP. API-only polling provides less information.

Resolution
When you use SNMP to poll device nodes, basic details will be polled via SNMP, and SD-WAN details will be polled via API.
When you use API-only polling for device nodes, some basic details as well as SD-WAN details will be polled via API.
SolarWinds recommends using SNMP polling for basic details. Use API-only polling only if you cannot or do not want to use SNMP. API-only polling provides fewer details.
