Overview
You are receiving the following Error under Cisco routers every minute, but Orion polls info every 2 mins.
Nov 6 06:54:33.210 PST: %SNMP-3-AUTHFAIL: Authentication failure for SNMP request from host xx.xx.xx.xx
Nov 6 06:55:33.723 PST: %SNMP-3-AUTHFAIL: Authentication failure for SNMP request from host xx.xx.xx.xx
Nov 6 06:56:36.995 PST: %SNMP-3-AUTHFAIL: Authentication failure for SNMP request from host xx.xx.xx.xx
You are only polling ICMP and not snmp. Have turned off (one at a time) the snmp 2 then tested, then turned off snmp 3 and tested, then turned off vlan in Orion and tested. You are still getting this error again every minute.
Product section
Cause
Some other 3rd party software is installed on the Orion sending SNMP Request which is not caused by the Orion NPM.
This could also be caused by Engineer Toolset if you have it running on the same server and the node is monitored in Toolset. Either the SNMP on the device is changed or the SNMP string for the device added in Toolset is incorrect.
Resolution
Unmanage the Node and then check the SNMP Response.
