Overview

When monitoring applications hosted on Linux/Unix machines using SAM's Linux/Unix Script Monitor, you may come across connectivity issues when the application template is assigned on machines running OpenSSH 7.6(e.g. Ubuntu 18.04).

Product section

Server Application Monitor

Cause

A bug in OpenSSH 7.6 prevents connections from SSH advertising a protocol version of "1.99" used by SAM's Linux/Unix Script monitor

Resolution

Upgrade the target server's OpenSSH to at least 7.7

Workaround

  1. Change the polling method of the target server to agent
  2. Edit the application monitor to use 'Agent' as Preferred Polling Method
