SAM option not available for additional free poller installation

If using node-based licensing in SAM 6.9.1 or later, you can add APEs at no extra licensing cost. Cannot install SAM only polling engine. Option is missing for SAM free poller installation. VMAN poller option missing. Log Analyzer poller installation option.

Overview

Option is missing when attempting to install a free SAM-only poller. This option is only made available when using node-based SAM licensing model (see details here).

There should be a second option to install a SAM only poller, like so

But the option is known to disappear without reason. Sample image:

Resolution

Deactivate and reactivate the SAM license.

Navigate to Settings > All Settings > License Manager
Select the SAM node-based license
Select it and deactivate it
immediate reactivate it
Quit and rerun the installer on your server once more
