Routing Neighbor alert creation in SolarWinds Observability SaaS
This article explains how to create Routing Neighbors alert for network devices in SolarWinds Observability SaaS.

Overview
In SolarWinds Observability Self Hosted NPM, there are existing alerts created for Routing Neighbors such as the following:
The actual trigger condition:
Trigger alert when: At lease one child condition must be satisfied (OR):
Routing Neighbors - Protocol Orion Status - is equal to - Down
Routing Neighbors - Is Deleted - is equal to - Yes

This article provides the above equivalent alert definition and condition to be used in SolarWinds Observability SaaS.

Resolution
- Once logged in to the SolarWinds Observability SaaS UI, go to Alerts >> Alert Settings.
- Click Create Alert.
- Complete the Details page and hit Next button.
- Under Alert type, click Metric condition and hit Next button.
- In the Conditions Section:
- Under Alert on, select Entity.
- Under Select a scope, select Network Device as Entity type.
- Select your appropriate scope of Network Devices in the Scope by section.
- Under Define a condition section, in the Condition 1, select Relationship.
- In the Relationship section, select either one of the following: Routing Neighbor (Network Device) or Routing Neighbor (Discovered Network Device) NOTE: Select Routing Neighbor (Discovered Network Device) if the network devices you selected in the scope are registered in SWO SaaS via Network Discovery.
- Select the appropriate scope in the Scope by section.
- Under the Relationship Attribute Condition section, click Add Relationship Condition:
- In the Relationship attribute section, select "protocolStatusDescr"
- In the Operator section, select "in"
- In the Multiple section values, type Down and type Not Available
- Click Next to open the Actions tab and define one or more actions to be performed when this alert is triggered and hit Next button to go to Summary page.
- Click Create button for the alert definition to be saved successfully.
