Resolution
When you start the SEM Reports Console, the console prompts you to input a manager (the hostname or IP address of your SEM). After you enter your log in credentials, click Test Connection. This will send a TCP ping the SEM. Most networks will block anything but a full ICMP ping to devices, as other types of ping packets can be used for unapproved purposes.
If the ping test comes back failed:
- Make sure your log in credentials are correct.
- Press the Green Plus button right next to he Manager Name box.
- In the main reports window, scroll down to Database Maintenance Report.
- Select and run the Database Maintenance Report.
This report may require several minutes to complete. If the report runs for longer than one minute without error, your credentials are correct and your Reports console is set up correctly. Otherwise you will get a Database Vendor Code.
- Navigate to Logon failed error in SEM Reports Console .
- Follow the instructions in the article to resolve those issues.
