Report for Min/Max/Average bps In/Out graph in NPM

Overview

This article provides steps to create a Report of Min/Max/Average bps In/Out graph generated on a monthly basis.

Cause

some report functions are "hidden"

Resolution

  1. Log in to Orion Web Console using an account with Administrative Privilege (Admin account).
  2. Click Settings > All Settings > Manage Reports.
  3. Create New Report and choose a Custom Chart in the Resource Name.
  4. Click on Select and Continue button.
  5. Select the prefer Method in the Selection Method: (In this example we use Dynamic Query Builder).
  6. Choose Advanced Selector.

  7. Select Interface in the I want to report on: drop-down list.
  8. Set your filter for the specific Interface.
  9. Click on Add to Layout.
  10. In the Edit Resource:Custom Chart Page, Click on ADD DATA SERIES on Left Y-AXIS.

  11. Add the following Data Series Name: Average Receive bps, Average Transmit bps, Minimum Receive bps, Minimum Transmit bps, Peak Receive bps, Peak Transmit bps.

     

  12. Data Series should look like this in the image below:

  13. Click on Submit or Preview Resource.
  14. Back to Add Report LAYOUT BUILDER, specify the report duration in the Content Section to Last 30 days as shown in the image below:

  15. Click Next to proceed to Preview tab.
  16. Click Next to proceed to Properties tab.
  17. Click Next to proceed to Schedule Report tab.
  18. Click Next to proceed to Summary tab.
  19. Click Submit to finalize the Report.


 

NPM out-of-the-box report Min/Max/Average bps 

  1. Reports > All Reports > Manage Reports.
  2. Create New Report.
  3. Find the out-of-the box report Min/Max/Average bits per second.

  4. Select and continue.
  5. Add Nodes or Interfaces
  6. Modify all your settings and follow the wizard to save the report.
