Report Writer Migration Tool - Orion Platform

This article will provide steps on how to migrate legacy reports in Report Writer to web-based reports.

Overview

This tool is used to migrate all of the legacy reports to web-based reports since Report Writer is obsolete in versions 2020.2 and later.

Migration steps:

Log in to the server hosting your main polling engine.
Start the Legacy Report Migration Tool. Click Start > All Programs > SolarWinds Orion > Report Writer Migration Tool.
Choose the report(s) to migrate.
To only migrate specific legacy reports, use the Search box to find the reports, and select corresponding boxes.
To migrate all legacy reports that have not been migrated yet, select the Not yet migrated box and click the box in the table header to select all displayed items.
Click Migrate.

Please note that depending on your release of Orion (or release which you have upgraded from) you may encounter an SQL Error when opening this application. Re-creating the report in web-based is another solution in case the report was not migrated.
