- Assumption: The shared folder is on a separate machine from the SolarWinds Platform.

Resolution
Create a shared folder
- Log in to the remote machine.
- Right-click the C: drive or other drive names and create a new folder.
- Right-click the new folder and select Properties > Sharing.
- Click Share and set the permissions.
- Copy the shared path of the folder into Report Scheduler. For example \\Machine name\share
Test access to the shared folder
- Copy the network path into the Windows search box. If the path is correct, a window opens.
- Right-click within the window and create a new text document. If this fails, you do not have write permissions to the folder and Report Scheduler will fail to write to the folder.
NOTE: Errors for Reports not saving to disk are found in the Core.Businesslayer.log file (%programdata%\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion).
Example: ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Actions.Impl.SaveToDiskURL.SaveToDiskURLMethodInvoker - (null) User Orion\NetEng has no write permission to \\x.x.x.x\netengineer\ folder.
