Resolution

  1. On the computer hosting your SolarWinds Platform installation, stop all SolarWinds Platform services using the SolarWinds Platform Service Manager
  2. Rename your system. Do not reboot the computer yet.
  3. Use Database Manager to view the SolarWinds database , and then run one of the migration scripts to update the references to the old server name in the database with the new name. See Migrate SolarWinds Orion products to a new server with a new IP and hostname, task 2, step 8 for details.

If your products use Orion Platform 2016.2-2017.1, you must also move the license store by running migration.exe/promote. See Migrate SolarWinds Platform products to a new server with a new IP or hostname for details.

  4. Reboot the computer
  5. Run the Configuration Wizard

You have renamed the computer hosting your polling engine.
