Reinstall IIS on the SolarWinds server

Overview

Occasionally Web Publishing service (w3wp.exe) might crash and cause the SolarWinds Platform web console to become inaccessible. In this article, you will find steps helping in reinstalling IIS.

RDP to the SolarWinds server providing web access (Main Polling Engine, Additional Web Server).
Run Server Manager, go to Manage > Remove Roles and Features.
Go to Server Roles and uncheck Web Server (IIS)
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the steps to uninstall the IIS.
Restart the server after the IIS is uninstalled:
Run the Configuration Wizard as administrator.
Click Yes for the confirmation to install any missing IIS components. You may need to reboot the server a second time.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Configuration Wizard.
