Resolution

  • JOHN-PC, PETER-PC, TEQUILABOOMBOOM and WIN-XXXXXXXXXXX (where X are seemingly random alphanumeric characters) are known device names of Google's Virus Total service;
    • These requests occur when the DRE Applet is uploaded to the aforementioned service (which results in the Applet being executed and generating a, or multiple, support request/s).
  • Receiving incoming support request from unknown devices is very common for AV services or security third parties running from the Azure Cloud probing our Applets due to their dynamic nature;
    • It's more and more common nowadays that applications with some security module perform sandbox testing to prevent malware infections.
  • Unknown requests do not pose any risk, even if the request is accepted as the requesting device has absolutely no control over the local device but the other way around instead.
  • Applets cannot be remotely shut down as they're not persistent installs - the incoming requests indicate that the Applet is working as intended.
  • After the uploaded Applet expires, the incoming requests should cease - by default Applets are set to expire 12 hours after being generated;
  • You can change this and even setup Applets to be deleted after session ends by following these articles:
