Overview
Analysis Sensors to provide packet-level traffic information about key devices and applications.

Resolution
QoE was introduce in NPM 11 and its part of the install.
You can install sensors in Windows server (Server sensor and Network Sensor).
You can find detail information on the Orion Core Admin Guide: http://www.solarwinds.com/documentat...ratorGuide.pdf
DPI = QoE
This is Packet Sniffing build into the Core of NPM.
How does QoE Work?
QoE uses Packet Analysis Sensor to provide packet- level traffic information about key devices and applications that you specify.

We are going to Span or mirror FastEthernet0/1 OVER FastEthernet0/2.
You can also Span or mirror Vlan1 OVER FastEthernet0/2.
Realistically you will not SPAN ports and VLANS simultaneously – You usually do one or the other.
Commands:
You can pick any number you want.
Source is FastEthernet0/1
Both means – do you want Input or Output (in this case BOTH).
Destination is (where is it going to?) FastEthernet0/2
Go into Config mode --- config t
Exit
Write mem
Congrats you have just setup a SPAN port
What if you want to monitor another port?
… and you can continue to add ports (one after another, after another) as many as you need.
How do you see what you already have as SPAN?
So you can see what is going on there.
What happens if you have a dozen ports? … this takes us into the VLANS
VLANS only have received so we need to say “rx” to set up VLAN SPAN
NTA vs DPI (QoE)
NTA is the Map and QoE are where the traffic is on the roads
Slow – is it the wire (network or the application? DPI is here
