Poll for F5 iControl - Invalid SSL certificate in NPM

Overview

This article describes the issue where adding F5 node and selecting poll for F5 iControl result to an error and you receive the following prompt after selecting "ACCEPT CERTIFICATE":

 

Connection attempt failed!
Invalid SSL certificate.

One or more tests failed because of invalid SSL certificates. Install valid SSL certificates for F5 iControl, or click [Accept Certificate] to create a security exception for the certificates. Solarwinds recommends that you install a valid SSL certificate for F5 iControl.

Warning: Accepting invalid SSL certificates is a possible security issue. Use the button only if the connection between polling engines and the F5 device is secure.

Resolution

  1. Remove and re-add the F5 node from NPM via Manage Nodes.
  2. Once re-added, try to poll for F5 again and this should address the issue.
