This article explains the cause of having mix values for Overall Running vs Startup Config Conflicts charts.

This helps you to understand the values in Conflict/Non-Conflict/Unknown and details how to correct the Unknown values showing in the pie chart.

Cause

The Conflict status shows as red for the devices you have downloaded for both startup-configuration and running-configuration. When NCM compares both configuration, it finds. Therefore, the pie chart is depicted as red for these devices . 

The No Conflict status shows as green for the devices you have downloaded for both startup-configuration and running-configuration. When NCM compares both configuration, it finds NO conflicts. Therefore, the pie chart is depicted as green for these devices . 

Part of the pie chart is showing as Unknown for the devices added in the Orion NCM for one of the following reasons:

  • There was no configuration downloaded from these devices.
  • There is only either a startup-configuration or a running-configuration that was downloaded.
Therefore, the status for the conflict is unknown.  This part of the pie is depicted as gray.
