Overall Running vs. StartUp Config Conflicts Chart shows Unknown in NCM

When you view the Overall Running vs. StartUp Config Conflicts Chart in any of the NCM pages, it shows a huge percentage for "Unknown":

#1 There is no Startup or Running config that has been downloaded from each of the devices.

#2 There is no baseline config set for the devices to be compared to.

You must download at least one Start & Running config from the devices & set one configuration as baseline only then the correct results within this pie chart will be compared against the baseline. 

Step # 1 

1. On the Web Console, go to Configs > Jobs.
2. Select Nightly Config Backup and click Edit.
3. On the Nightly Config Backup edit page, click Next to go to the Add Job Specific Details tab.
4. Verify that the following are selected:
   • Running
   • Startup
5. Click Next and then click Finish.
6. Go back to Configs > Jobs.
7. Select Nightly Config Backup and click Start Job. 

Step #2

A. (NCM 7.8 and below) Set baseline configuration for your network through NCM Job:

1. On the Web Console, go to Configs > Jobs. > Create New Job > "Baseline" > Next >  Select "Baseline Entire Network" > Complete the Job 

         

B. (NCM 7.9 and above) Set baseline configuration for your network through Configuration Management:

1. On the Web Console, Click My Dashboards > Network Configuration > Configuration Management.

2. On the Config Management tab, expand a node to display the list of associated configs.

3. Identify the config to use, and click Promote to Baseline.

Once done leave the system UP and running for the next few hours, then the chart should now display the correct percentages.
