Overview

Scenario 1:
When trying to perform web console integration of Solarwinds Platform and DPA, the following error message may appear:.

In DPAIM logs:

2020-09-28 13:11:26,793 [81] ERROR SolarWinds.DPA.BusinessLayer.Integration.Commands.ConfigureIntegration.EnableFederationCommand - Information schema refresh timeout (30 seconds) exceeded

Scenario 2:
For customers running Solarwinds platform version 2023.2, the same GUI error shown above and you have Additional pollers deployed in your Env.

Product section

Orion Platform

Cause

  • It happens if the customer has a slow environment or using SQL express with a few resources available.
  • If you identify long running queries that takes much longer than 30 seconds, Orion can be heavily loaded generating the issue.
  • If running 2023.2 with Additional Pollers - known bug due to DPAIM BL being installed and enabled in APE's as well.

Resolution

Solution for Scenario 1:
1. Point your browser to /Orion/Admin/AdvancedConfiguration/Global.aspx
2.
Find & Change the following setting
"FederationSchemaRefreshTimeout" and change it to something much larger - like 10 or 15 minutes

Schema refresh appears to be the last part of the integration process and as it timeouts, all other parts are rollbacked.

3.  Restart services and try to integrate again.

Solution for Scenario 2:
We advise upgrading to the latest version of DPAIM.
This issue was fixed in version 2023.4. For more information information, please check this release note: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/dpa/content/release_notes/dpaim_2023-4_release_notes.htm#link2
