Overview

When you manage your VMware vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V instances in the Virtualization Polling settings, the Polling Method drop-down menu is disabled for the monitored hosts.

This article describes why the Polling Settings drop-down is greyed out when you try to manage individual hosts under VMware vCenter and Microsoft Hyper-V instances.

Cause

The individual hosts are monitored by their corresponding vCenter and Hyper-V software applications. Polling is controlled at the top-level instance.

Resolution

Select the checkbox for the top-level vCenter or Hyper-V instance.
