Overview

The following error occurs when adding a node via Manage Nodes:

Error contacting poller. Value cannot be null parameter name source.

Note: Adding node using Network Discovery works.

Cause

Resolution

  1. Stop all services including SolarWinds Administration using Orion Service Manager.
  2. Delete the serviceDirectory.json file in c:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Orion\.
  3. Start all Orion Services including SolarWinds Administration.
  4. Run iisreset command in elevated (administrator) Command Prompt.
