Resolution
Configure account limitations
You can restrict access to NetPath services and probes using account limitations. See Restrict user account access to network areas using limitations.
Other workarounds
Restrict access to NetPath to administrators only
Restrict the NetPath Summary page to administrator users only. Create a custom menu bar without the NetPath link and assign it to users who should not access NetPath traces.
-
Click Settings > All Settings, and then click Manage Dashboards.
-
Check out the Network_Tabmenu. Create a similar custom menu bar without the NetPath services item. See Add, remove, or change the order of dashboards in a menu bar for details.
-
Edit the menu bar for each user who should not access NetPath traces. See How to customize My Dashboards.
Provide users with access to specific NetPath traces only
To let users see only specific NePath traces, use one of the following options:
-
If there are only a few traces you want all users to see, add URLs for these to the custom Network menu for all users. Edit the custom menu bar, click Add below Available items, and add the URL. See Add, remove, or change the order of dashboards in a menu bar for details.
-
Add the NetPath URL to the menu bar as an external site. See Add external websites to the Orion Platform.
-
Add a custom HTML widget with the links to the traces.
-
Go to Settings > Manage Dashboards/Views.
-
Find the view you want to add the widget to, click Edit, and a add a CUSTOM HTML resource.
-
Save the view. The resource becomes part of the view.
-
Edit the resource to assign a title and add custom HTML links to the paths that are available to the users.
