Maps are not being loaded due to underscore in the maps url after upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2025.1.1

The map URL has changed after the upgrade to 2025.1.1, generating an error when loading the maps in the views.

Overview

After upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2025.1.1, maps does not load properly and produce the following error message:

Unable to load map id: MAPS-_XXXX

 

When accessing the view with the Map, it shows an error, which can be seen in the IIS log.

Cause

This issue occurs due to the underscore symbol ( _ ) in the maps url when display in the modern dashboard.  This issue is only applicable to SolarWinds Platform 2025.1 and 2025.1.1.

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, please upgrade to SolarWinds Platform 2025.2 and above.  If any upgrade is not possible, please apply the workaround below by performing the following steps:

  • Remove the Map from the view and re-add it.  This will create the map url without the underscore.
  • If you created a link in the Menu bar, you will need to update the Map URL with the underscore symbol.
