This article provides steps to obtain the switchport details on a MAC address in the UDT database.

Resolution

  1. Establish a remote desktop connection to the Orion server.
  2. Launch the Database Manager.
  3. Open the SolarWinds database. 
  4. Locate the following table named UDT_Endpoint and take note of the rogue MAC address and the EndpointID.
  5. Open the following tables and cross check their EndpointID against the PortID data:
    • UDT_Port2EndpointCurrent
    • UDT_Port2EndpointHistory
  6. Open the UDT_Port table and cross check the PortID .This is to get the NodeID.
  7. Open the Nodesdata table and locate NodeID to get the name of the switch or router where the MAC address was polled against.
