OIDs are not displayed in the UnDP MIB browser or the SolarWinds Web Console MIB browser

In the SolarWinds Universal Device Poller, you might see an error stating "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." when selecting the Browse MIB Tree option:



Other possible errors may be found in the UniversalDevicePoller log in C:\ProgramData\SolarWinds\Logs\Orion\NPM:

• Access to "C:\Program Data\SolarWinds\MIBs.cfg" is denied or cannot read, due to a Group Policy or Antivirus software 
  • Beginning in 2025.2, the file is "C:\Program Data\SolarWinds\MIBs.db"
• MIB Database is corrupt, or not accessible 

1. Connect to the Orion Server with a Local Server Administrator account and NOT a domain account and run the Orion Permission Checker tool 
   • Even Domain Admin accounts are subject to Group Policies. If you are unable to use a local administrator account due to policies in your environment, then you may consider creating a shortcut to the Orion Permission Checker on the desktop and running it each time you log on to the server with your domain account. 
2. Update the MIB Database
