Overview
After upgrading to SolarWinds Platform 2025.1 and above, you may see a notification in the SolarWinds Platform Web Console to re-run the Configuration Wizard:
Re-run the Configuration Wizard to enhance the performance of the SolarWinds Services.
Beginning in SolarWinds Platform 2025.1, changes to how polled data is stored in the database were implemented to improve the performance of SolarWinds services and load times on certain dashboards. In previous versions, polled data included millisecond fractions. When you re-run the Configuration Wizard, data will be truncated to seconds, which will improve the efficiency of comparing database objects. The Configuration Wizard only needs to be run on the Main Polling Engine, and only once after receiving the notification. Additional Polling Engines, HA Standby Engines, and Additional Web Servers do not need to run the Configuration Wizard to address this.
Product section
Cause
This message occurs because of system-level changes to multiple database tables and performance improvements introduced in SolarWinds Platform 2025.1 and above to store polled data without a milliseconds fraction.
Resolution
SolarWinds recommends running the Configuration Wizard to truncate the millisecond data and improve the efficiency of comparing database objects.
